These tall trees completely cover themselves in blue and lilac flowers, filling the city with color in full spring.<\/p><p data-start=\"329\" data-end=\"501\">Their scientific name is <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jacaranda_mimosifolia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em data-start=\"354\" data-end=\"377\">Jacaranda mimosifolia<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, quite easy to remember compared to many others. These trees transform streets and parks into an unforgettable landscape.<\/p><p data-start=\"503\" data-end=\"694\">Originally from South America (Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina), jacarandas grow quickly and reach heights between six and ten meters. Beyond their beauty, they inspire stories and legends.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"725\">A Legend from Argentina<\/h4><p data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"1142\">A popular tale tells the story of Pilar, a young Spanish woman who fell in love with Mbaret\u00e9, an indigenous man from Corrientes. Her father opposed the relationship and, in a fit of anger, killed them. When he returned to the site, he found no bodies. Instead, a tree covered in blue flowers had appeared. According to legend, God turned Mbaret\u00e9 into the strong trunk and Pilar\u2019s blue eyes into delicate blossoms.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1174\">How the jacarandas arrived in Seville<\/h4><p>Local tradition says a diplomat first brought jacarandas as a gift. He had been scolded for cutting a rose in Mar\u00eda Luisa Park and promised to bring a tree that would bloom abundantly as compensation. That\u2019s how jacarandas became part of Seville\u2019s charm.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"1434\" data-end=\"1474\">Where to See Jacarandas in Seville<\/h4><p data-start=\"1476\" data-end=\"1793\">Some of the oldest jacarandas grow in Mar\u00eda Luisa Park, especially near Plaza de Am\u00e9rica. You can also admire them in the Alc\u00e1zar gardens, near the Puerta de Marchena. There, the violet jacarandas mingle with bougainvillea, cypresses, and orange trees.
